Recently I purchased some hypnosis mp3s from a few popular site, they are all about 1 hour long.

The problem is I cannot get into a relaxed state, and I have trouble trying to stay with the session for the entire hour. Listening for the hour becomes tedious and annoying, the session just seems too long, slow and painful.
Most of the time I just stop the session half way out of frustration. Any small sound will get me more annoyed and wanting to stop the session. So I end being more stressed then before the session.

Is the normal, what can I do?

Those long audios work for some people. And, some people really like them and get results.

I have the same problem as you with those long audios. That's why I focused on techniques that work more quickly in the audios I created.

So, "is that normal"? Yes.

What can you do? Practice with the audios you have in the hopes you'll get used to them. Or, try different techniques that may be better suited to your situation.

Be aware that "relaxed" and "hypnotized" are not the same animal. You CAN have one w/o the other. Though, as you experience, increased tension during the audio will negate the potential positive affects.

Another option is to spend some time with an in-person hypnotherapist, and develop the ability to go into a deep hypnotic state on-demand. Then, when you start the audio, you use your own technique developed with the hypnotherapist to go into the hypnotic state, and then the length of the session will likely not bother you.

Of course, I did say LIKELY...

If even that doesn't work, that's probably indicative that there might be something about the audio in question that your subconscious mind doesn't like. If you suspect that this might be the case, try transcribing the recorded session. See if you can spot the parts that are not resonating for you.

And by the way, if that is what it ends up being, know that you can always allow yourself to translate the things that bother you into what the speaker SHOULD (in your opinion) have said.

But using better, more resonant, audio files will always be the preferred solution.

there is no one size fits all solution to hypnotherapy and the commercially available audios out there are a completely hit and miss therapy technique (they are very successful in making their creators money though). You have three choices in my opinion, 1) try other material until you find something that works for you (be warned this could be a long and expensive journey) 2) visit a professional hypnotist, learn to go into trance and ask them to make you an audio recording 3) research hypnosis and record your own session tailor made to you.
Hypnosis is a very personal thing and the most effective inductions and deepeners are those that have a personal resonance.
