what are most relaible methods of treating anxiety attacks ?
for someone who has panick attacks in situations of meeting strangers.
and an over awareness of people lookng at them,when they are not.

Most probably you are suffering from a Social Anxiety Disorder, formerly called "Social Phobia". Panic attacks are simply a part of the symptomatology and not the real problem.

Research and experience have shown that Social Anxiety Disorder cannot be self-treated. There are some techniques that may or may not offer some temporary relief, but they are not recommended because they often result in a long-term exarcebation of the symptoms.

The best type of treatment for this disorder is Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy. This type of therapy combined with hypnosis can offer relief within a short period of time. However, for a total elimination of the problem and not just effective elimination of symptoms, some form of depth therapy is also required. Again, depth hypnotherapy is much more effective and brief than other depth therapies.

My advice, find a qualified therapist, skilled in the above modalities and familiar with Social Anxiety Disorder, and trust yourself in his or her hands as soon as possible. Social Anxiety Disorder, especially when accompanied by panic attacks, can be really disabling and, usually, does not get better with time.

I love the herbal remedies especially homeopathic medicine, I started taking this 3 weeks ago and have been housebound for 5 months.

At the weekend I got out and in the car just a short journey but no attack happened.

anxiety attacks are caused by a mind-body state of thinking negatively about some future event, “in most cases” having had anxiety attacks in the past, many, many years ago, I can say that self treatment is very, very possible, this is the process that I went through, to fix the anxiety attacks.

Set 1 get in to a habit of learning to relax, and create a resource anchor, so you can get relaxed just by firing the anchor.

Step 2 make a list of all the times, where you have had an anxiety attack, now some people will make real long list, others will just have a few times, that stand out. Only spend 2-3 seconds with each memory, you want to spend as little time in this process as possible, speed is important.

Step 3 now think about the relaxation anchor, “You can also add confidence and other recourses to this if you with” and make sure that, you can access, a good relaxed state, when you access, this state.

Step 4 go back in time, to a place before, the first memory on the list. Now fire the relaxation anchor, just before the beginning of the first event, and have the old memory change, as you relive that memory, with this new relaxed feeling as you run through, this process, a number of times, each time get a better feeling of relaxed alertness.

Step 5 now do this with the rest of the memory list, and also go, forward in time 30 or so years, applying the same, recourse anchor, to possible future situations.

Now you can make any and all positive adjustments, in just the right way, so that the mind-body can live in a balanced, having created a ecology that supports you in just the right way.

Step six after going through this process, at least 3 times, think about real times where you had anxiety, and how does it now feel?

SAME/DIFFERENT How would you like it to feel? If you could have the best feelings in them times how would that be? And relive them times with just those best feeling.

This process works cos it re-patterns The Neuro-pathology, of the old memories, by running and adding your own personal resources, that you have had access to all you life, then all that you have done is, given your self permission, to apply this new set of better feelings, now rather than, running them in the first instances.
